Muslim Family Services works with the local Detroit Family court division of 36st District, to assist with domestic family issues. The agency also works with the juvenile court to assist in juvenile and family matters. Assistance primarily consists of working with court officials to help with cultural and/or religious issues or norms that may affect family or individual understanding of the American legal system. The agency consists the family by working with the family’s attorney or other advocate in an effort to complete the family or individual’s understanding of the American legal system and their contact with the system. Services such as translation both oral and written, explanation to client of court proceedings, and other similar activities are provided.

As a part of its advocacy services, Muslim Family Services seeks to provide training to court officials, social services agencies and others human service agencies who work with immigrants and refugee populations. This training consists of cultural specific norms and behaviors to be found in family relationships as well as on relationships with the members of particular community. The training provides an opportunity for behaviors to be known and thus less likely to be misunderstood. The agency seeks to build bridges of understanding so that those who serve immigrant and refugee populations can be successful and those seeking services are assisted in the best manner possible.
The agency has conducted seminars at Wayne County Family Independence Agency. We have met with 36st District Court letting them know of our domestic violence counseling services. We are seeking to become qualified to participate in the court’s anti-domestic violence program. |

AL QURAN
O mankind! Worship your Lord (Allah), who has created you As well as those before you; Do so that you are saved. It is He Who has made the earth A resting-place for you, And the sky a canopy, And sent down water from above With which He brought forth fruits for your sustenance. Do not, then, set up rivals to Allah When you know (the truth). (The Qura'n 2:21-22)
AL HADITH
Narrated Sahl: The Prophet said, "There is a gate in Paradise called Ar-Raiyan, and those who observe fasts will enter through it on the Day of Resurrection and none except them will enter through it. It will be said, 'Where are those who used to observe fasts?' They will get up, and none except them will enter through it. After their entry the gate will be closed and nobody will enter through it."
